Joyce & Alan, thank you both for welcoming us into your home. We have thoroughly enjoyed our relaxing experience and can definitely say we will be back. It has been a delight to see Freddy socialise so well with your animals and even befriend the wonderful Muffin! You have shown us exactly what we want in our lives and we are forever grateful. Thank you for our first family holiday.

Thank you both for making our stay here at Comfort Cottage so comfortable and friendly. We’ve both really enjoyed the views and all of the animals whilst we have been here. Thanks for your recommendations on the best places/beaches to visit. We’ll miss it all

Thank you for a wonderful time in this beautiful place! The kids just loved it here – and fell in love with Muffin the cat, as did our dog Paula. We enjoyed the most amazing, sunny weather, explored dog-friendly beaches (Paula’s first time) and dog-friendly restaurants. I never thought it could be so enjoyable to travel with our dog. Greetings from Germany
Alex & family (July 2018)
Thank you to Joyce & Alan for welcoming us to Comfort Cottage. This is my second visit here and I have had an amazing time again. This time I received healing from Joyce, which was so incredible! I feel much less stressed now as a result. My dog Jacob and my friends dog Poppy, have had such a lovely time too. I love the views here and the alpacas are gorgeous! We had a great time at Poppit Sands with the dogs and also delicious food at the Ferry Inn too. A huge thank you to Joyce & Alan for having me back again for a 2nd time.
Emma xxx p.s. Can I come again please? (June 2018)
Thank you for a lovely welcome and understanding as we arrived very late on the first day. Beautiful location, lovely views, very peaceful, cottage clean and cosy. Joyce & Alan were very friendly, thanks for the Welsh cakes and firelighters! Animals made the location more relaxing, Muffin the cat so friendly, loved a fuss. Perfect location to tour around West Wales and beyond. Visited Poppit Sands, ate at Ferry Inn, food lovely, St David;s, Llangrannog, New Quay, Aberystwyth, Devil’s Bridge, local cheese farm, Caws Cenarth and local town, Newastle Emlyn. Also visited relatives in Glynneath, South Wales.

Thank you for the lovely warm welcome. We had a very peaceful nights’ sleep and feel rested. The cottage is lovely, warm, clean and comfortable. Just what we needed.
Jeremy & Manita (May 2018)
I think we were very lucky to have booked Comfort Cottage for 1 night – it’s such a lovely, welcoming place – with everything we needed to experience a “home away from home” mini break. I found it easy to fall asleep in the quiet and dark – the beds and pillows were very comfortable. Joyce & Alan made us feel very welcome and gave some ideas about local attractions and good places to visit. Thank you for a lovely stay.
Liz & Daniel (April 2018)
Thank you so much Joyce & Alan for such a lovely time. We both needed somewhere to recharge our batteries and this was definitely the perfect place to do so. It was certainly a pleasure to stay in this cosy cottage surrounded by the beautiful scenery and gorgeous animals. We loved the daily visit and cuddles from Muffin and even Bruno the Rottie was in love with her and just wanted to play! The fresh eggs were perfect for breakfast as well! Thanks again Joyce & Alan, we’ll see you in the summer!
Elliot, Sandra & Bruno (March 2018)
What can I say, lovely warm hosts and a beautiful home to match it! We loved it here, the cottage was warm and delightful with the surrounding areas simply stunning. Another beautiful gift we awoke to was snow, which really did make the place enchanted indeed. Thank you for a wonderful stay. We will be back.
Nikki & Anthony (March 2018)
Searching on Airbnb. I could instantly feel the energy and good atmosphere that Joyce & Alan’s cottage would give. Although we did not come here for a holiday, but for my grandfather’s funeral, the time spent here gave us a small holiday vibe. The warm welcome, it made us feel at peace and gave me the energy I needed to build up my strength for such a daunting experience. Staying here has given me the ability to enjoy my stay, despite the reason for coming to Wales. Little Muffin did come and give us cuddles, she is so cute, my son had a permanant smile! Being surrounded by all the animals has been AMAZING! We thank you for the welcome package, all was delicious, the eggs were amazing! Unfortunately we did not get enough time to get to know Joyce & Alan, however, they are wonderful and offer great hospitality. We have decided to return in the Summer, to explore and enjoy getting to know Joyce & Alan. Love & Light
Amy, Ferenc & Logan (March 2018)
After a very friendly welcome from Joyce and Alan, we had a fantastic stay in Comfort Cottage. The place was warm, clean and tidy. We had 4 great nights’ sleep and enjoyed use of the goodcooking facilities. Waking up to the view of all of the animals was pleasantly refreshing from our usual city life. The location was perfect for exploring the South West of Wales.
Thank you for a lovely stay!
Jacob & Katie (March 2018)
What can we say? We received a lovely welcome from Joyce, Alan & Muffin the cat! Felt relaxed as soon as we arrived and Comfort Cottage was the perfect place for a good old chill! Breakfast was lovely and great facilities for making food. We all had great nights’ sleep and enjoyed playing scrabble before bed! Muffin is truly a delight and we have all fallen in love with her. The sense of tranquillity is just what we needed!
Thank you so much Joyce & Alan for letting us stay in your beautiful cottage.
Love Jem, Jess & Lou (February 2018)
Thank you Joyce & Alan for a wonderful stay at your Comfort Cottage. I enjoyed the peace and quiet, the low sun beaming through the window, even in the midst of January! What a beautiful place you have. It’s also great for location, a hub to some special places around and the towns of Cardigan, Carmarthen and Newcastle Emlyn. The cottage had everything I needed. So nice to spend a day or two going nowhere and just chilling! And to experience the contrasts of the wind, rain, sunshine & stillness in-between.
Space much needed, thank you
Paul (January 2018)
You have a beautiful home in a beautiful place. We deeply enjoyed our stay and taking part in the cottage and local activities – scrabble, cooking, beaches, museums and great pubs. Thank you for welcoming us in.
Henry & Rae (January 2018)
We had a fantastic stay at Joyce & Alan’s cottage. Joyce & Alan were very caring and helpful with all our requests. The cottage has everything you might ask for – it’s warm, comfortable and well-equipped. We could easily cook breakfast and dinner for the four of us, hot water worked perfectly.
The countryside around the cottage is amazing and the kids loved the animals in the yard, geese, ducks, hens and the two alpacas. Fresh eggs in the morning were a plus! We were sightseeing every day during the week and found out that the location is excellent for easily reaching West and South Wales’ main attractions: coastal paths, castles and museums etc. We didn’t expect to have so many interesting places so close to the place. Newcastle Emlyn is a charming village; the National Woollen Museum; Cardigan and the beaches.
We eventually saw just a bit of what we had planned, we’ll definitely come back to Wales and Comfort Cottage!

My second visit to this truly amazing getaway – Comfort Cottage, a place where you can just be, in whatever form that takes. A lovely welcome from Joyce & Alan plus all the animals. It was lovely to finally meet Django & Alfie, such characters – a photographer’s dream. Visited the Museum of Childhood Memories – a must for all ages, then drove to Dylan Thomas’s Boathouse and the castle, well worth a look and only 40 minutes away. Thank you both, think you should start a Muffin Club – she gives the best cuddles. Love & Light Always

What a peaceful place, our children were so excited to be able to feed the ducks and chickens and have loved meeting and cuddling Muffin the cat. What can I say – we found Paradise! Comfort Cottage was everything we expected and more. Peaceful, tranquil and amazing hosts. Alan & Joyce made us so welcome – Alan with his info on the chickens and ducks – I even fell in love with a chicken (I secretly named her Lilac Lil!) Joyce – with her great ability with healing has made me feel so uplifted. They are a genuinely lovely couple – excellent hosts, even providing lovely food at our request. We really couldn’t have found better. It is beautiful here, just how I imagine Paradise to be. Who could ask for a better place to spend your birthday, would love to come back again.

We’ve had a lovely few days break in this lovely cottage. Thank you Joyce & Alan for such a warm and friendly welcome. What a bonus to receive such a great welcome for our two dogs.
The surrounding countryside is spectacular and so quiet – what a change from the bustle of the city! Hopefully we will return as we plan our daughter’s forthcoming wedding. Many thanks

My time at comfort cottage.
The day arrived and I found myself driving up the M5/M4….. Wales awaited. I had arrived at Comfort Cottage. I was met by a smile and a welcome from Joyce and Alan and the sound of dogs, cockerels and geese.
Joyce showed me around the cottage and the energy the cottage had was the first thing I noticed. It is such a peaceful place, the scenery seemed to be ever changing. I thought this place was truly named right “COMFORTABLE”. Joyce took the time to chat for a while. Settling in was easy, everything was there ready for you. It was time for the kettle on for a cuppa and sit out with my book. Having Henry the cockerel and the geese as back ground noise made a welcome change from the hum of cars and traffic at home. When I booked, I booked dinner and I was glad I did, the food was amazing. When you live on your own home cooking isn’t always the way it should be, but believe me this was. There was a choice have it in the cottage or join Joyce and Alan, I chose to join them and I was made very welcome, especially by the dogs, smudge whiskey and fritha, they have their own welcome with cuddles aplenty. The views at dinner were amazing watching the landscape change as the mist came over the mountain. I know it might sound a contradiction in terms but you could hear the peace.
Next day I went exploring, being new to the area I had no idea what to do or where to go. There was information to hand or Joyce and Alan could advise the best areas to visit or places to go…I chose Newcastle Emlyn Castle and Cardigan Bay. First thing I noticed is the car park charges, coming from Devon I was expecting the same but no they are a lot cheaper for longer hours, a big bonus. The castle is a lovely circular walk with a dragon chair in the middle of the castle. It is a photographers dream. You can sit in the dragon chair and look out and you can feel the energy. This would appeal to dog walkers. It would be a lovely place for picnics as well. Along the river is a weir where you could see all manner of wild life. There are lots of small shops in Emlyn. Later I went to Cardigan Bay and visited the castle, a lot of heritage and the castle is interesting to look round. In cardigan you can eat and shop to your heart’s content.. Try the guildhall market. It was then back to the cottage, chill and dinner. Healing was after dinner and we sat in the heart of the house, Joyce’s healing room and spirit worked on what was needed.
Last day and I felt as if I had been there for ever, getting ready to leave emotions were mixed, sad to be leaving but knowing I would be back. Re- connecting with friends was the best feeling. You may be here for a day or a week but one thing you will take away is a piece of this place and keep it in you heart.
Love and Light

These few days at Comfort Cottage have been the most relaxing we’ve ever known. We had great plans to do heaps of walking but other than going into town a couple of times and visiting Cenarth Falls, we’ve done nothing! and loved it! The atmosphere here is wonderful, we’ve both slept like logs and having no light pollution has been a welcome relief from the two street lights outside our house at home. Joyce and Alan couldn’t have been more welcoming, lovely hearty breakfasts started our days off well and just the ability to be able to sit and relax, with no worries, has been really lovely. We both had healing which has done us the world of good and both feel well rested, just a shame we have to leave. Will miss Henry the cockerel and his girls and Sid Vicious (the gander) and especially Muffin and Bagpuss the cats, but we’ll be back for more cuddles. Thank you Joyce and Alan, you are two wonderful people and its been a joy to spend time with you both. Much Love

Thank you for a lovely holiday. Comfort Cottage had everything I needed for my stay. Dinners and breakfasts were delicious; Joyce, you are a wonderful cook and I especially enjoyed the duck eggs. The Welsh countryside is so beautiful and Alan and Joyce – you are two lovely people.
My 3 healing sessions made my time here extra special. Thank you!
Carolyn Fletcher, Newbury, Berkshire (April 2017)
A lovely warm welcome from Joyce and Alan and the goose eggs are to die for! Our border collie loved it too and sand and sandcastles are within easy reach. It was good to return from our sightseeing to a warm and cosy cottage, and to Henry the Cockerel, bossing his harem around in the field. Thanks Joyce and Alan, we enjoyed our stay.
