24th May 2023 – Philip, Jane, Oscar & Dougie (the dogs)

A lovely combination of tranquility, simplicity, comfort and environmentally friendliness – we feel fortunate to have found it. Our stay (this time) was all too brief, but we commend Poppit Sands for dogs, Cardigan for independent shops, the supermarket in Newcastle Emlyn…..and Hiut Denim too (the reason for our visit).

Thank you for what you have created and established here and for your generosity of spirit in sharing it. The cottage is warm, comfortable and well equipped to meet our needs. The animals were a special treat.

1st May 2023 – Des & Charlotte Griffin, Belgium on route to Ireland

We absolutely loved our time here, even if it was short (1 night). We would definitely come back if ever in Wales again. The cosy cottage is perfect, with all the necessities. It’s so

peaceful and has a nice atmosphere to it. We loved seeing the alpacas, donkeys, cats and sheep. Our only regret is not staying for longer. Thanks for making our trip so enjoyable, this was the best sleep we’ve had since we left Brussels. You were lovely and welcoming and we wish you all the best for the future.

29th April 2023 – Gardiners, Wiltshire

Sadly we only had a short visit for a wedding but it was such a lovely, cosy, comfortable cottage to come back to. Wonderful to wake up to the sound of birds, sheep and cockerels. We’ll definitely be returning to make more of this wonderful place. Thank you so much for the warm hospitality.

24th April 2023 – Stella Waterhouse, Dorset

Lovely place to chill out un. Blue tits tapping at the windows, amazing animals, though one of the alpacas was camera shy. Had good weather for the first couple of days so went to Aberporth, great beach for dogs, had a long walk along by Henllan river. Two days light rain so pottered around Newcastle Emlyn etc. Thank you somuch for letting me share your little slice of paradise. Especially enjoyed the warm welcome and the “mix up with the welcome basket! My dogs thought it was a wonderful place to stay.

Dear Joyce & Alan, thank you for a lovely 5-day stay. It was the first, yet the best, holiday to Wales that I have ever been on. I also liked the fact that some mornings you could or would wake up to the sound of the cockerel in the morning. I did find the dogs quite cute, even though they barked at me. Thank you again, Lots of love

Miss Alexis Jane Wood xxx 4 hugs for everyone and all the animals that you have

Thank you for welcoming us to your lovely cottage – it has been a wonderful visit! Joyce and Alan are warm and friendly folks. Muffin too! Growing up, we read novels stating the sweet scents in the air – we never experienced anything like that until we came here in Wales and to Comfort Cottage. The breakfast here is to die for as well! Cheers!

23-29th June 2019

What a fantastic week we’ve had here! We’ve been able to relax and enjoy the cottage and surrounding area. As well as having lots of trips out to explore. Really recommend Mwnt Beach, the Welsh Wildlife Centre and a visit to Cenarth (and the cheese farm!). Joyce and Alan have been so welcoming and we all enjoyed cuddles with Muffin, though not sure about the present!! It’ll definitely be a holiday we remember – for all the right reasons!! We’ll think of you later in the year when we’re eating our runner beans! Hope to see you again.

June 2019

We arrived on a chilly, blustery, rainy evening, entering the warm, cosy cottage was more than welcome. We were met at the gate by Alan and Muffin who came out into the rain to greet us, then led us to the cottage, where Joyce welcomed us in. We were immediately impressed (but not surprised) by Joyce’s lovely personality and of the charming feel of the cottage. Muffin came in to visit and snuggle for a while which was such a treat, since we both miss our own kitten so much, she is such a little love snuggle Muffin! Slept so well, our stay here was too short but will hopefully be back to fully enjoy this beautiful place and experience.

Hi, Thank you for the pleasant stay in your lovely cottage and the welcome package. We enjoyed the beautiful surroundings with blooming laburnums. Also the tappace apea and all th animals, especially Muffin. What a sweetheart! She was our therapy cat and gave us lot of love back ❤️❤️ We had 2 days sun and 2 dys rain, but made wonderful trips. Two time sto Fishguard to visit our daughter, who is there as a trainee at The Seatrust. In the area of StDavids and Pembroke you canmake fantastic coastal walks. Now we are driving to the Cotswolds for one night and then back to The Netherlands. (Last week we were 1 week in North Wales, also beautiful).

I liked the bed because it was nice and cosy and I liked the cat Muffin. I liked it when she sat on my lap. I liked it when we went in the wrm bubble bath. The breakfast was big, warm and very yummy to eat. I really liked the pattern on th window and I liked the coloured Camelion, Jemma aged 7 years.
Just one night ……….. just toooo short!!! Joyce, you have thought of everything, thank you very, very much.

Thank you so much for having us Joyce & Alan. The weather was mostly great and we missed most of the rain. Had another awesome time in Wales and we will be back. Was good to see some new places and museums, Cenarth Falls was spectacular. Childhood Museum is small but friendly and well stocked with many bygone relics of fun playtimes. Both are definitely worth a look as is the Woollen Museum close to the Childhood Museum.

Thank you for such a lovely holiday! The cottage is amazing, very warm and welcoming 😊 I was able to treat everyone to a spa day at Peterstone Court, Trip to the local indoor/outdoor market in Carmarthen and a lovely day exploring the Wildlife Centre, Cenarth Falls, Poppit Sands beach and Cardigan Island Farm Park. We have made many memories exploring th parts of Wales we haven’t yet seen. This was made even better by being sunny for our whole holiday 😊
Thank you again Karen, Lucyann, Josh & Lennie
PS The animals were lovely to listen to and the cat Muffin was always around for cuddles and was adorable xxx

Thank you so much, Joyce & Alan, for a lovely experience. The snow was quite an adventure! We are so grateful for your advice and amenities and if we ever find ourselves in Wales again, we will certainly remember your lovely farm. It was exciting to see an alpaca up close …… and of course we shall miss dear Muffin! She was the best part for me, while Mum enjoyed the bubbles in your ample tub! Really enjoyed St Davids and our scenic drives and it was comforting to know we had a nice, warm cottage to return to, where we could cook in a proper kitchen. Shall remember you fondly.

Thank you Joyce and Alan for a lovely stay. Felt like a long lost friend coming to stay! Breakfast pastries were a nice touch, although they didn’t make it to breakfast! Came here for s workshop at the Wool Museum (an interesting place to visit) so didn’t get to see much of the surrounding area, which is a great excuse for another visit! Cottage so cosy and relaxing, with everything you need and lashings of hot water! Lovely to be around all the animals, even my anti-social labrador, Bruce, was chilled, although I fear Muffin has met her match in him! Thank you Joyce for the healing and unlocking my back! such a relief! Have told my family about this lovely spot so I am sure they will want to visit, as will I and hopefully quite soon!
Best Wishes Angela and Bruce the Lab, Bournemouth

I have found my haven away from the craziness of the Big Smoke! When I arrived I was completely depleted. I am leaving today (I will be back!) completely rejuvinated 😊 I slept and rested, breathed in the clean, fresh air, watched and “hung out” with the animals, pottered around the cottage doing some work I brought with me, and best of all, I had two wonderful Healing Sessions with Joyce. Thank you Joyce & Alan for sharing this wonderful place with us.

Thank you for the warm welcome. What a delightful cottage. Although not far from where we live, it gave us a chance to get away. A shame that a number of places were closed, despite it being half-term. We loved the Woollen Museum and the Quilting Cottage.

A beautiful little cottage in fabulous surroundings. Perfect base for a few days of exploration. Cenarth Falls, Mwnt Beach and Poppit Sands were our favourite finds. What better way to wake up than to the call of a Rooster and the smile of an Alpaca! Parker said he liked the cats 😊 Thank you for the hospitality, Jodie, Stacey & Parker
